Plano Balloon Fest Ham Radio Volunteer Shuttle Information Updated September 16, 2007	!

General Description

Field volunteers will park offsite, be shuttled in by designated shuttle driver

General hours of operation

• Morning – 6am to 11:30am

• Evening – 4pm to 9pm

• Will not be available outside these hours

Procedure for requesting shuttle service

• 147.18+ pl107.2 repeater (talk-in when not in a launch)

• 146.48 simplex (field ops frequency)

• Please allow 20 – 30 mins travel time

• If you don’t get there EARLY, you may not make your shift

Pickup and Drop-off Location

• Park at the NW corner of Garden Ridge (Spring Creek & Ave K)

• North of the tall flagpole

• Look under the power lines

If you don't take the shuttle...

• Entry into the festival costs money

  • $1 to $8 depending on the pass

• Parking costs money

  • $5 to $10 depending on where

• DART shuttle bus

  • DART from Parker Road Station

Please remember that our primary reason for being at this event is to improve the safety for the balloonists.  Please be very careful when driving and providing communications support.
